About
ARTIST STATEMENT
With my abstract paintings, I apply oils or acrylic with flat brushes or any type of broad edge utensils in a calligraphic manner. My brushstrokes danced across layers of paint around the canvas, creating images that I rather leave up to the viewer to interpret.
With my still life, I paint with oil and cold wax to create layers and textures. The inanimate objects are positioned to relay feelings of interaction.

As an art teacher, I teach calligraphy and portrait drawing through the Davis Art Center. I also had taught at other places when requested like the International House and at the University Retirement Center. Also, I am an volunteer gallery docent at the Pence Gallery.
