Watercolor Portrait of a Cat

A commissioned job by a calligraphy client. She saw the oil portraits I’ve done on my wall and asked if I can do one in watercolor. Displaying art makes good advertising.

This is 10″ x 8″. Palette: Indathrene Blue (?), ultramarine blue, alizarin crimson and quinacridone gold/cad yellow with a touch of gouache china white. About 8 hours to do.

I enlarged the photo to a black/white. Used tracing paper to transfer image to watercolor paper. Used the smaller color photo for color reference and painted away about 8 hours.
