“Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days” Challenge

I will soon be participating in the “Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days” Challenge hosted by Leslie Saeta. I had been listening to Leslie’s Blog talks, AHA (Artist Helping Artist) where she and a co-host offer business advice for the working artists. What I like most of all is her interviews with well known artists such as Paul Jackson, Greg LaRock, Randall Sexton, Carol Marine, Karin Jurick….and the list goes on and on.

The challenge is a way to get artist motivated to paint more if not every day. A theme is recommended. A fellow of artist that I know is painting portraits for the challenge. For myself, I thought at first doing small watercolor abstracts but then I paint almost everyday. So I’ll just post what I had painted that day. Leslie encourages everyone to post their art for the day in her blog. It’s amazing to see the different paintings for people all over the world.

So to my fellow artists bloggers and followers, join in the challenge. Note things do come up where you are not able to paint. So no worries about failing. Just pick it up the next day. Also Leslie encourages not to do a complete painting or it doesn’t have to be perfect…the purpose of the whole challenge is to get into the studio and paint.

Would love to hear how everyone will be doing in this challenge..

And oh the challenge begins in January.

  1. Thanks for stopping by my page, Marlene! I’ve been looking through your entries for the 30 days challenge – and I am impressed!! I tried drawing and painting, and found that I wasn’t all that good at it, so I am sticking with writing… 🙂

    1. It is! I discovered AHA recently and now I’m backtracking to the older talks first. I’m in 2011. Hope you can participate!
