Painting 24

Painting 24 of the Thirty Paintings in 30 Days – Day Twenty-Four

This portrait was painted from a photo I took of the model at a drop-in session. Not the best photo. Blurry, not much detailed but yet enough information about the value changes that I can paint from it. In fact, I heard recently from a podcast that most artists if they paint from photos would preferred blurry ones.

    1. Hi, Amber. A clear cut photo doesn’t leave much to the imagination. A blurry photo forces you to draw upon your knowledge and your creativity. After the 30 day challenge I’ll post a commission that I had just finished. I had to work from blurry photos.
