I met this little dog with his owner while taking a walk with my dog. All perky and striking a pose, this little dog was all ears as I’m taking a photo of him.

Also available commissions for a small animal portrait on 6 x6 inches canvas panel in my Etsy shop
My youngest son loves to style his hair. When he was around 10, he grew it very long and would swing his head around to flip his hair around. Now in his 20s he shaves the sides very close and leave the top long.
This was painted from a photo.
I’m available for commissions. More info in my Etsy shop at https://www.etsy.com/listing/216684232/custom-family-oil-paintings-8-x-10?ref=shop_home_feat_2
This sketch was done at a live model session before I had to stop going due to a family crisis.
Carrying a pochade box with oils and brushes and Gamsol ready-to-go allows me to grab opportunities to paint for two or three hours. This was done while I was with my mother.
The nice thing about the internet is its source of references. I have collected photos of ethnic faces to paint. I haven’t had much time or energy to paint in oils. But a 12 pan watercolor palette and a Moleskine sketchbook that I carry always in my handbag and my smartphone, I can paint anytime or anywhere.
A new model. She had such a regal face. Her hair was also lovely but I wanted to focus to be on her face.
Still trying to master the Zorn palette.
This is a oil portrait of a young man who posed for me at the International Festival. I was struck by how the light hit his face – nice shadows and light. So taken a photo of him, I painted this portrait. Again I’m using the Zorn palette. Because of the success of the sale of this portrait No. 34, I’m aiming to complete portrait.
