Portraits

The oil painting is a three hour pose in an open studio. My second attempt. The first I tried for the full figure. After 20 minutes of struggling, it was wiped off. Second attempt, much better. I’m learning to wipe off.

The charcoal portrait done in my portrait drawing class that I teach. It’s a 6 week class where I covered a feature a week. But the last was devoted to drawing from a live model. It keeps the class interesting. First time this young woman modeled and she did a great job! Quickly sketched her while helping the students. They did quite well!
