Lost edges to melt into the background. Using a palette knife for accent highlights.
Still marching on with the Thirty Paintings in 30 Days – Day Twenty-Five
I discovered I love to paint blueberries. They seem dull at first..hardly any colors or values. Just this big blue blob. But looking closely there’s so much more color. Variation of blues, a touch of red, bluish white for the highlights. The big red “thing” didn’t quite work for me. Anyone know what it is?
And again I used colored papers.
Had to paint these before they spoiled. Up for sale on Etsy
I have to say I’m having a ball just painting fruits…tiny paintings of fruits. This one is a tiny painting of only 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. Quickly done up within the hour. At first glance, the blueberries appeared as one solid color; but the challenge here was to capture the various subtle colors of blues. The more I developed those slight variations of blues the more realistic they became.

Those tiny little blueberries were just a challenge to paint. They’re not just a solid blue color; but of different shades of dark blues.
