It’s done! The client loves it. I have to admit I did enjoy doing a bigger painting. Hopefully I can do more.
Still working on this commission. Here I’m establishing the general based colors. And I’m definitely working with bigger brushes like 3/4″ to 1″. Taking David Shelvino’s workshop prepared me for working big. I have to say I do enjoy working a lot larger.

Commission piece based on a stock photo of the Isle of Innisfree. The client had fond memories of this place but wanted warmer atmosphere and a teal color boat. (The color of the boat in the photo is more green). The size is 24 x 36 inches, my first big landscape. I had to say when I started it was freeing to work big. Below is a small study reduced down proportionately to 6 x 9 inches. In the slide show is the beginning on the larger canvas.
