Another attempt to paint this model, Dominic.
I met this little dog with his owner while taking a walk with my dog. All perky and striking a pose, this little dog was all ears as I’m taking a photo of him.

Still working only with Zorn palette; a limited palette of just four colors; titanium white, ivory black, yellow ochre, and cadmium red. Even with just those four, I feel there is so much colors I can reproduce. The Zorn palette works well with portraits and figures but with landscapes and still not quite sure.
Since the photo was from Pinterest and probably copyrighted, I cannot sell the painting.
This sketch was done at a live model session before I had to stop going due to a family crisis.
Carrying a pochade box with oils and brushes and Gamsol ready-to-go allows me to grab opportunities to paint for two or three hours. This was done while I was with my mother.
A new model. She had such a regal face. Her hair was also lovely but I wanted to focus to be on her face.
Still trying to master the Zorn palette.
The past weekend 28 artists in Davis open up their studios for visitors and possible sales. This was the second year for me. And I realized after this weekend that it will a part of my art yearly event.
This portrait is number 34 of oil portraits paintings that I had been doing in the Zorn palette. I wasn’t planning to sell it. It was laid out to dry completely and then later to be scan. But a dear friend wanted it and is interested in buying it.
